12 Week Training Class
October 15th – January 5th
Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm at the San Marco 1st Place Sports and Saturday mornings at 7:30 am at rotating location
1st Place Sports is hosting a 12 week training program geared toward beginning runners (ages 16 and up) that will conclude with the Ameris Bank 5K on January 5th. The group will meet twice a week on Tuesday evening and Saturday morning. An individual training schedule will be given to each person based on their current fitness level. Coaching will be conducted by Stephen Cox, a native of Jacksonville, Florida who has a level one coaching certificate from USATF. Participants can add-on a Nutritional Consultation with Kelsey Beckmann of Meteor Nutrition, which will address background health information and training demands along with a 48 hour review of dietary intake versus training load! Purchase of a discounted Trigger Point Foam Roller will also be offered with a roller demonstration by Josh Myers of Implus.
Who is Stephen: Stephen is from Jacksonville Florida and a graduate of Bishop Kenny High school. Stephen graduated from Florida State University and until recently was living in Eugene, Oregon before moving back home to be closer to family. Stephen has a level 1 coaching certificate from USATF. He sports 7 years experience at the middle school and High School levels. Has personally trained from Beginner to experienced adult athletes for distances ranging from 5k-Marathon. Stephen has also qualified individually for the Boston marathon 3 times.
