For more than 45 years, 1st Place Sports has been helping people discover the joy of movement. Since opening our first store in 1978, we’ve grown into Northeast Florida’s premier specialty running retailer while producing some of the region’s most recognized races and community events.
Our mission has never been just to sell shoes. We help people reach goals they never thought possible – whether that’s walking their first mile, crossing a marathon finish line, or simply living a healthier life.

What You Can Expect
Working at 1st Place Sports means no two days are exactly alike.
Depending on your role, you may:
- Help customers find the right footwear and apparel through our professional fitting process
- Learn about the latest running and walking technology from leading brands
- Assist with local races, packet pickups, and special events
- Participate in fun demo runs and community gatherings
- Build relationships with customers who return year after year
- Work alongside teammates who genuinely enjoy what they do
