Your health and that of your family are of utmost importance to those organizing the annual Vilano Bridge Run. As such, due to the Governor’s ban on mass gatherings to curtail the COVID-19 virus, we are forced to cancel the 24th Annual Vilano Bridge Run, scheduled for March 21st.
This race is an important fundraiser for the Florida School for the Deaf & Blind and North Shores Improvement Association. Please know that your race registration fee will continue to go toward supporting these valued organizations and that your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Runners are optimists by nature and for every door closed, another is opened. We are hard at work planning a Vilano Bridge Virtual Race. This will allow you to run at your convenience, receive your race T-shirt and finisher medal and submit your times to 1st Place Sports for posting. True, you won’t be able to place in your age group but you will be able to stay safe and run on your own schedule. While you won’t get to enjoy our fun after-party, we do invite you to come on down and run your virtual race here on our beautiful bridge.
We’ll be widely sharing details on how to participate in the Virtual Run in the coming days. Again, thanks for your patience and understanding during these tough times and know that your continued support of these two local charities is greatly appreciated.
Our thanks go out to our Title Sponsor Bob Holmquist & Charlene Garra of Watson Realty and our Gold Sponsors Serenata Beach Club, Flagler Hospital, Vinny’s Pizza, Ancient City Brewing, Dog Rose Brewing Company, Beach 105.5 and the Dilbert Clan.
Now in its 24th year, the Vilano Bridge 5K & 10K Run, starts at the Vilano Beach Community Center and Park and winds through the Vilano Beach community, crossing the scenic Vilano Bridge with its sweeping views of the Intracoastal and area beaches. Our 10K run will continue to wind through our Vilano area communities. Both races finish at the North Shores Community Park for the post-race celebration with food, beer, music, drawings & FUN! A family 1-Mile Fun Run will immediately follow the 5K. Come to run, stay to play!
Your registration will go to supporting important projects in the Vilano and North Shores communities. Once again, half of race registration proceeds will be donated to the School for the Deaf & the Blind.
T-shirts guaranteed to those registered prior to March 1st.
All communications including event promotions, bib number assignment, results, and runner instructions will be sent by email from 1st Place Sports. If you sign up for an event and do not receive an email from 1st Place Sports and want to receive them, please make sure that 1st Place Sports emails are added to your contacts and are not going to your junk or spam mailbox.
